Although we rarely commission original articles or photographs outside of our established contributors' pool, we are always interested in hearing from those with a fresh angle, insight or way of looking at travel.

You'll soon see what we're about, who our browsers are, what we have and haven't covered, and in doing so ensure your time and ours isn't wasted.

Before submitting, get in touch and fill us in - who are you, where have you been, what are your areas of expertise and why do you think your feature or photographs would suit explore.ie? At this stage, do NOT send photographs or attachments.

From there, we may offer to take a look at your proposal or completed work. It is not advisable to undertake an article or photographs solely with explore.ie in mind; especially without a commission.

One more thing. A place is not an idea. As travel and ancillary markets mushroom, it is imperative that writers and photographers come up with fresh, innovative takes on assignment. Head your idea 'South Africa', for instance, and you'll be lucky if it's read. Head it 'On the Diamond Trail in South Africa's Northern Cape', however, and we could be in business.

Commissioning Original Content: Both individual writers and photographers and the explore.ie team can provide quality content for specific travel-related projects. Such projects may include web sites, advertorial, brochures etc. Content generated in this manner is subject to terms and conditions and commissioned seperately to the editorial process feeding the web site.

Press Trips & Media Familiarisation: Much of explore.ie's travel is conducted independently. We do however, send writers and photographers on media familiarisation trips deemed fresh and relevant to our browsers. As such, tourism bodies, industry marketing representatives and travel-related businesses are welcome to submit details of press trips and programmes to explore.ie. Submissions are assessed in accordance with editorial policy and the current travel climate and, if deemed a good fit, matched with writers and photographers accordingly.
